Shop my serigraphs created on my digital palette.
What is a serigraph? A traditional serigraph is created using a stencil process, the most common of which is the silk screen method. Each color that appears in a serigraph has been applied individually through a separate silk screen that has been blocked out in areas where that particular color doesn’t appear in the image. Typically, the color palette is more limited and dynamic - famous ones by artists Andy Warhol and Leroy Neiman by example. My interpreted serigraphs share a lot of the appealing characteristics of traditional results but with a twist.
My sport serigraphs as mentioned are created on a digital palette using my existing painting print files. Special software with a pen/tablet is used applying different methods. I have limited my palette between 4-6 colors so attention to how they lay next to each other and dealing with limited color values makes this process challenging like the traditional methods. My serigraphs have a dynamic color range that allows the viewer to interpret and fill in details. From a viewer perspective, the ability to make sense of color and space is often subconsciously what we find appealing in serigraphs versus photography or other paintings.
