Title: Tiger's Triumph    |   Limited Edition 50 Tiger Woods is already a cultural icon while redefining greatness in golf. His fiery spirit and emotion adds a certain accessibility to all sports fans. His ability to concentrate and execute despite the pressure of expectations is what makes him great- just himself against the field; no team to rally around.   This painting captures the singular moment that defines Tiger- winning The Masters. I strived to capture his emotion as if the viewer were present. I painted Tiger to contrast from the background as the only focus. I used rough brush work to emphasize the immediacy of the moment. Without question, Tiger’s domination of the PGA tour and fiery spirit has elevated him to the most followed sports figure since Michael Jordan. With 64 PGA Tour wins (and counting) and four Master’s victories, Tiger’s only goal remaining is to reach the most victories of the Major’s long established by Jack Nicklaus. Here are some stats to put his dominance in perspective: »  Has won 29% (64 out of 220) of his professional starts on the PGA Tour. » Defended a title 21 times on the PGA Tour, has finished runner-up 24 times, third place 17 times » Has a 31-6 record when leading after 36 holes in Tour events, and a 43–3 record when leading after 54 holes Tiger’s reign is far from over with the history books still wide open. Stay tuned.
