I painted an almost theatrical background filled with streaming stage light and a lively, animated background as if Michael were on-stage performing before an enthralled, approving audience. His physical gifts were equally matched by a competitive intensity that allowed his name to be associated, and not hotly debated, as “the greatest… ever”.
