Title: The Golden Bear: Jack Nicklaus  |          Limited Edition 50 Jack Nicklaus is widely regarded as the greatest golfer of all time. Nicklaus achieved a record 18 professional majors on the PGA Tour spanning 25 years from 1962 through 1986. In addition, he accumulated 8 tour majors later on the Champions Tour (senior version of the PGA). While Tiger Woods goal is to match this pinnacle goal, he still has many years needed to come close. Nicklaus's life has been one defined as a fierce competitor yet retaining a grace in the golfing world and public at large. I wanted to capture the grit and concentration that defined Nicklaus in this painting as he marched to victory in the Masters. The painting has a red color palette to reflect the fiery spirit. His expression and furrowed brow were classic definition of his character. All these elements come together in a powerful expression to the Golden Bear. Nicklaus's accomplishments are many; here are a few ways he has left his legacy to golf: » Most PGA Tour wins at 73 » Major wins 18; 2nd place 19 times; top 10 finishes 73 times » Most wins at the Masters=6 » Leader of PGA Money Tour list 8 times » Founded largest gold course design business; personally designed/involved with 200 courses
